Papier Mache with Kathy Marx: Make Your Own Dog

photo of papier mache sculpture of dog

Thursdays, February 1, 8, and 15, 2024⋅1:00 – 3:00pm

Kathy Marx is offering a papier mache class.  The idea is for people to create a piece in the image of their own dog.  It helps if you’ve  taken a previous class, but not necessary.  The class will meet 3 times, possibly 4.  Just bring photos of your pup.  You’ll be able to create your dog in any position you want…standing, laying down, sitting, at play.  If you don’t have a dog and still want to come and play with papier mache, that’s ok.  Each class will be approximately 2 hours long.  The charge will be $20, if you’re over 75, the class will be free.  You don’t need to bring anything beside pics of you pooch, your imagination, and a good sense of humor!  Meet at the library on Thursdays, Feb 1, 8 and 15, at 1:00 pm.

Class limited to 6 participants

Friday, April 5, 2024 at 6:30 pm at Francestown Town Hall (2 New Boston Rd.)

Did you know that salamanders and skunks are nocturnal? Come join us
while we explore the adaptations of many animals that allow them to navigate in
the night. From well-known owls and bats to brightly colored moths and
salamanders, this program will focus on all things nocturnal found here in New
Hampshire.
Slater Roosa, Education Coordinator for Audubon’s Massabesic Center will be our
speaker. Slater received his degree in Biology in 2016 from Salve Regina
University. Since joining the NH Audubon team in 2021 he has been working with
schools, libraries, and anyone else interested in wildlife conservation by leading a
variety of educational programming throughout southern and central New
Hampshire.
The Joan Hanchett Nature Series is a free program for adults and children
of all ages. It is sponsored by Francestown Land Trust, George Holmes Bixby
Library, Francestown News, and the Francestown Conservation Commission.
