Library Card Sign-up MonthSeptember is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Ages 6+

Did you know that September is Library Card Sign-up Month? Patrons age 6 and older living in Francestown may sign up for a library card. Stop in during library hours or sign up online and pick up your card in person.

 

 

 

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Newborn through Kindergarten

Stop in to register for this ongoing program which celebrates the importance and fun of reading aloud during early childhood. Then work to meet the challenge of reading 1,000 books before Kindergarten. There are many ways to reach 1000 books. Every book counts every time you read it. Participants will receive a free tote bag when they register. Stop by the desk in the Children’s Library for more information.

Take & Make Craft Kits to Go Sept. 12, Oct. 3, Nov. 7

All ages

New kits will be available each month.

Read and Ramble in Town Forest--Quarry Loop

New Read & Ramble - Coming in late September!

Recommended for families

Read a story while you enjoy the autumn foliage along the Quarry Loop in the Crotched Mountain Town Forest. The Quarry Loop is a 0.6 mile family-friendly trail accessed from the Farrington Road parking lot. Our featured fall book is A Bear is a Bear (except when he’s not) by Karl Newson.

 

 

 

Stories & Songs30

Recommended for children age 4 and younger

Join us for our fall session of Stories and Songs. This program is planned with our youngest patrons in mind. Stories and songs are selected for childrens ages 4 and younger, older siblings welcome to join us. We will sing some songs and read a book or two. This fall we are offering two time slots, Thursdays at 4:00 and Friday mornings at 10:30. Weather permitting we will hold this program outdoors on our new deck. If the weather is rainy or cold the program will be held downstairs in our young readers room. We hope to see you there! 

Registration is not required.

This is a drop in activity which will run from 2:00 to 5:00.

Join us for an afternoon of games and snacks. Bring a friend and learn a new game.

October Costume SwapCostume Swap through October

All ages

Do you have costumes you no longer need? Are you looking for a costume for Halloween? Our costume swap is back by popular demand. We will be collecting gently used costumes (cleaned and in good condition). Costumes may be dropped off at the library October 3rd-7th. The collected costumes will be displayed in the stairwell leading to Children's from October 10th - 28th and available while supplies last. 

 

Book & Cocoa Bundles - Register online November 1st through December 8th!

All ages

This popular program, inspired by Jolabokaflod, returns for a third year in December. Jolabokaflod is the Icelandic tradition of gifting books on Christmas Eve then spending the evening reading new books and sipping cocoa. Register online for our Book & Cocoa bundle between November 1st and December 8th. Simply fill out our short online form to answer a few questions about favorite books, authors, and interests. We will then prepare a curated Book & Cocoa Bundle. Bundles will be available for pick-up at the library December 19th through the 22nd. This program is open to patrons of all ages.

Cookie Decorating
