NOTICE of PUBLIC HEARING
Proposed Changes to the Francestown Zoning Ordinance
 
There will be no ZOOM option for this meeting.
 
The Francestown Planning Board held a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at 6:30 PM at the Francestown Town Hall, 2 New Boston Rd, in order to present and discuss proposed changes to the Francestown Zoning Ordinance.  This Hearing was continued to Tuesday, January 18th at 6:30pm at the Francestown Town Hall, 2 New Boston Rd, in order to present and continue discussion on the following proposed changes to the Francestown Zoning Ordinance as follows:
 
Changes proposed by the Planning Board:
 
ARTICLE III   GENERAL PROVISIONS:
(note: these additions/amendments will be proposed as a separate warrant articles as indicated)
1. Amend Section 3.11 to allow for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in detached accessory buildings on conforming lots. Changes include amending language in 3.11 and establishing 3.11.2 to set criteria for detached ADUs.  Proposed criteria include: limiting size of the detached ADU to 1000 square feet, requirements for adequate parking and septic, compliance with zoning setbacks, and restriction on transient rentals.
 
ARTICLE VIII  DEFINITIONS
Proposed amendments would:
  1. Amend the definition of Accessory Dwelling Unit to delete reference to “within or attached to a single-family dwelling”
