CONSERVATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES---JULY 1, 2019
 
Meeting called to order at 7:04 pm
 
Members present:  Betsy Hardwick, Pam Avery, Jim St. Jean, Kelly Marshall, Don Crooker, Robin Haubrich, and Scot Heath. 
 
Members of the public in attendance:None.
 
-June 3; motion by St. Jean, second by Avery, Avery, St. Jean, and Hardwick in favor, Marshall, Haubrich, and Heath abstain.
 
Notices and Announcements
-Received certified letter from estate of Franck Hanchett asking if we object to the distribution per his will.No objection.
 
New Business
-Wharton Town Forest-Haubrich moved, St Jean second, to rename this “Fisher Hill Town Forest”; unanimous in favor.  Work session to be scheduled for 6/17 or 6/24 at 6:00 pm to remove waste from this property and take to the transfer station.  St. Jean brought up discussion regarding mountain bike trails in this forest.  Parking area needed, as is a state DOT approved driveway location.  Trails must be located to avoid sensitive areas.  Consensus was favorable to this use.
-East Road Crotched Mountain Town Forest Access-Access ROW is shared with cell tower companies and there is no defined parking area.  People can use but should not park near the wells on Mountain Maintenance Corp. property.  Designated parking may be part of the condo septic system solution.
-Election of Officers-Haubrich moved, Avery second; Hardwick to continue as Chair, Crooker to continue as Vice Chair, Heath to continue as Secretary; unanimous vote in favor.
-Emerald ash borer traps have been placed at Howell’s and behind the horse sheds.
-Kelly to organize scavenger hunt on Blueberry Loop Trail/story walk.
