Discussion of the Francestown Land Trust (FLT) ARM Grant project to acquire land of Connard. Abutter Murphy has agreed to donate a conservation easement along the river on property across the rver from Connard.  Barry Wicklow of FLT reports the properties are among the highest ranked wildlife habitat statewide; are know to support endangered plant species; and the South Branch of the Piscataquog River is a native brook trout stream.  FLT further reports it would be very helpful to have a letter of support from the Conservation Commission.

Heath moved, second by Marshall, to authorize Betsy to provide a letter of support to FLT for this project.  Unanimous vote in favor.

Hill Conservation Easement (Tiede property).  Tiede has filed an intent to cut.  Their forester is Swift Corwin.  Proposal is to cut 50% of the standing timber.  Much of the growth on the property is past prime age and removing it will allow for greater regeneration and better overall forest growth.
