The Francestown Police Department have recently received three complaints of an individual soliciting the sale and installation of solar panels for residences. The first contact was with a resident residing on Dodge Hill road on 8/22.

The incident was investigated by this agency. The citizen reported that the subject approached his front door and was soliciting the purchase and installation of solar panels and stated that this was in conjunction with Eversource Power of New Hampshire. During our investigation, the vehicle used by the white male who was reported to be around thirty-five years of age, was identified as a 2019 Toyota 4 Runner color white bearing New Hampshire registration 4441760. Through our investigation, the operator was identified as a resident out of Milford New Hampshire. Eversource Power was also contacted, the fraud department explained that Eversource Power was in no way involved with any outside entity for the sale of solar panels.

The second incident took place on 9/15 in that two citizens residing on Greenfield road were approached in the same manner at their residences and solicited by the same subject using the same vehicle.

Further investigation was completed by contacting the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office in an attempt to confirm if the subject had been issued a State Hawkers and Peddlers license under New Hampshire RSA 320:8. This agency was informed that these permits were no longer required, and the New Hampshire Better Business Bureau should be contacted with any concerns from the public.
