Minutes of January 29, 2024 Meeting
 
Present: Trustees: Polly Freese (telephonic), Bridget Howell, Ethel Mac Stubbs Meg Hardwick (Alternate)
Part of meeting attended by Jamie Pike Meeting Called to Order at 10 a.m.
I. Old Business
  • Discussion of order of Agenda and decision made to first go into non-public session.
  • Ethel Mac Stubbs moved to go into non-public session and motion seconded by Polly Freese. Motion was pursuant to non-public session requires pursuant to RSA 91-A:3, II(e) . At 10:15 a.m. motion voted upon. Polly; Aye, Bridget; Aye, Ethel; Aye. Motion passes. Others present: Meg Hardwick (Alternate). The Board received an update on complaint by citizen and asked Ethel made follow up report and further action discussed. No decisions on merits were made. A motion was made by Ethel Mac Stubbs and seconded by Polly Freese to exit the non-public session at 1:20 p.m. Motion passes unanimously at 10:50 a.m.
  • Draft of minutes of meeting of January 15, 2024 reviewed. Motion by Ethel to approve minutes as submitted. Motion seconded by Polly. Motion passes unanimously.
New Business
  • Polly has written report of Cemetery Commission for submission to Town for the 2023 Town Annual Report. Polly read report over phone to attendees. Generally, the report will reference number of burials in 2023 (9), proposal of Commission to Town to rebuild of storage building, and creation of additional pedestrian access through stone wall, and ongoing research as to offering green burials. Ethel will type report and submit to Town. Ethel moves to accept report and Bridget seconds. Motion passes unanimously.
  • Jamie Pike enters meeting. Discussion of warrant articles and budget proposal for replacement of shed. Larry Kullgren estimated it would be
$8,000 for replacement of current building plus demotion removal fee of approximately $500 where new building approximately would cost $10,000, removal estimate $2,500. Meg has taken pictures she will forward to Jamie.
  • Idea: look into prefab buildings are approximately.
  • Meg and Ethel took measurements and Ethel will get drawing made of shed that meets our needs.
 
  • Tree removal will be problem if keep existing structure.
  • CIP requested amount is $5,000 is $5,000 (from Cemetery CIP) and
$10,000 from town building CIP fund.
Green Burial
  • Ethel will talk to Julie at Jellison and Dan Keaveny, current Sexton about green burial availability.
  • Bridget will proceed with drafting sample rules.
Motion to adjourn by Ethel at 11:00 a.m. Polly seconds. Motion passes unanimously.
