Marriage Licenses

Obtaining a License

A marriage license may be obtained from any Town or City Clerk in New Hampshire regardless of where you live. Once you obtain the license, you may be married anywhere in New Hampshire. There is no longer a waiting period before you can be married in the State of New Hampshire. You may be married the day you get the license.

Requirements

Both the bride and groom must appear in person to fill in the marriage worksheet. Please bring proof of identification and age (birth certificate, driver’s license). If you were married before, you must present an original copy of your divorce or annulment decree or death certificate, whichever is applicable. There is no blood work required. The license costs $45 and is valid for 90 days.
